501(c)(6) Tax Implications

The International Aesthetic and Laser Association (IALA) is officially listed as a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt organization with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). According to the IRS, any contribution made to IALA cannot be deducted on federal income tax returns. However, membership and sponsorship dues paid to IALA can be deducted as a trade or business expense if such expenditures are ordinary and necessary to the taxpayer’s business.
